Scope:
Kings College School was founded in 1829 in the Strand in London. Today the school educates 1,150 pupils combining academic excellence with a breadth of sporting and cultural activities including being one of the first UK schools to adopt the International Baccalaureate.

King’s College School has a reputation for achieving consistent high standards and the investment in ICT will help ensure this reputation is upheld.

Most recently they have used the generous ICT provision to update some of the cabling and components in the school’s communications network. Peter Kite, XXX describes the nw infrastructure “Migration of the server room allowed us to accommodate the reconsolidation of the departmental areas and to enhance educational development. There is now a new comms area to accommodate all IT staff and the accounts and payroll departments are integrated into the infrastructure”

Kings College School has many listed buildings on its site including the Great Hall, a distinguished example of Victorian architecture, designed by Sir Banister Fletcher. Installing cable in these prestigious buildings is a skilled job so King’s College appointed TCS Cabling Installation Ltd who have vast experience of installing networks in listed educational establishments. Daniel Tomassi, Director at TCS explains “ The main challenge at King’s College was ensuring all the cables were concealed. We used the Molex Premise Network Structured Cabling System to wire the 235 points as King’s College has always been impressed with its resilience and quality finish.”

The project also included the replacement of the fibre backbone which was supplied by BATT NETWORKS to allow communication between all the buildings on campus.
