TCS Cabling Installations Limited

From drawings and tender specification, TCS Cabling were initially requested to supply components to install 460 no Category 5E outlets throughout six floors of a new-build structure in the heart of the City of London. The cable and components selected were Hellerman-Tyton and comprised Enhanced Category 5e UTP cable, outlet termination modules and patch panels. The horizontal UTP cabling was installed from the lower ground floor computer room utilising diverse routing via North & South risers to each individual floor, then through the installed false floor via cable tray to 3-compartment floor-boxes positioned by the electrical contractors. As with any new fit-out contract, the data cabling had to be carefully co-ordinated with the other on-site trades to ensure a smooth installation with no conflicts. The whole project, including an additional ninety-two floor outlets and forty-eight inter-cabinet links, was completed within tight time and accessibility constraints to enable the incoming company to re-locate from existing offices in a controlled and problem-free fashion.
